About this artwork
This piece was commissioned to convey feelings of curiosity, lust, and self-discovery. I achieved this by layering visceral acrylic streaks to create an intricate texture that resembles something akin to muscle tissue. The yellow flecks contrasting against a deep fade from rich vibrant colours to snow white aims to evoke a feeling of innocence, progression, and enlightenment.

« My artwork was born from my experiences as a security scientist and is a reflection of my ongoing struggle with the nature of humankind and what it means to be human. »
Jordan J. Plotnek is an experienced Australian-Brazilian painter with international exposure. Working within abstract expressionism he gains inspiration from his scientific research and nomadic travels to investigate the nature of humanity; particularly in response to pressing contemporary issues such as international security, climate change, and globalisation. Plotnek's work treads the line between captivating and uncomfortable, luring the viewer in and provoking them to engage with their own psyche and question the world around them.
