About this artwork
A pale cadmium yellow gives rise to an endless row of doors that open to ways of thinking and dreaming, like the roots of the trees that make up a native forest. Nothing is more beautiful than a quillay, an endemic species of our territory, widely present in central and south-central Chile (between the Coquimbo and La Araucanía regions). It is an evergreen Chilean tree with a lifespan of 100 to 150 years, reaching heights of 20 to 30 meters. It is… widely used for honey production. This Chilean tree tolerates poor soils, prolonged drought, and direct sunlight very well, so it is commonly found on north-facing slopes and flat terrain.
Jorge Bremer uses paint, inks, and various tools, having trained in architecture and fine arts in Chile, where his natural surroundings profoundly influence his creativity. His techniques fuse the spontaneity of controlled gesture with the exploration of unusual materials, transcending styles and eras, surrendering to the magic of the creative process without constraints. His works convey a deep poetic reflection on solitude, awe of nature, and human fragility, evoking emotions of hope and love amidst the silence and vastness of the universe.
