About this artwork
Composition Desert is a painting that did not start with any preconceived idea. It is a work that developed as I was adding layers of paint and different lines with the oil pastels. In the end, this sort of desert landscape appeared. In the back mountain, I paid some homage to one of my favourite artists: Piet Mondrian. The mountain is painted in his iconic style. Also, in his most famous works Mondrian would use the word Composition with an addition…
of a number or another word. This is why the name of this work is Composition Desert.
