About this artwork
TOTO explores a symbolic presence at the intersection of the animal, the human, and the imaginary. The figure emerges with an instinctive, almost totemic energy, evoking loyalty, mystery, and primal strength. Through gesture and color, the work transforms the idea of a pet into an emotional symbol, where the intimate and the ancestral converse on the same plane.

Ansón is a self-taught painter, trained amidst brushes and his family's artistic legacy in Aragon, with over 30 years of experience. Passionate about gestural and abstract expressionism, he explores the canvas as an arena for physical action, using large formats and textures that evoke the power of artists like Saura and Kiefer. His cathartic and vibrant works convey an optimistic energy and existential critique, inviting the viewer to discover new worlds and emotions through the force of painting.
Since the mid-nineties, Anson has developed a deeply personal artistic practice, rooted in gestural abstraction and the tradition of European expressionism.
