About this artwork
This vertical triptych is based on the idea of deconstruction as a method of visual interpretation. There is no central narrative or fixed hierarchy: the forms appear fragmented and displaced, inviting the viewer to reconstruct relationships and meanings.
The work combines geometric signs, organic elements, and partial references to architecture or symbolism, avoiding a single interpretation. The division into three panels reinforces the sense… of both fragmentation and continuity, while the blue lines visually connect the different areas of the composition.
The use of acrylic paint reflects a search for precision and contrast between gesture and flat surface. Rather than representing a real space, the painting proposes a process of constructing and deconstructing the image, where deconstruction becomes a way of organizing the gaze and opening up multiple possible interpretations.
Josep Altimira is an artist with a solid background in architecture and fine arts, whose career integrates painting, thought, and international experience. His works combine rigorous technique with expressive freedom, moving from hyperrealism to abstract expressionism and rooted in deconstruction and conceptual reflection. He seeks to convey tension, transformation, and depth, inviting an emotional and intellectual connection, where each piece becomes an open dialogue with the viewer.
