Josep Altimira

I am Josep Altimira. Painting has always been present in my life. I studied Architecture and, later, between the ages of 35 and 40, I studied Fine Arts, specializing in Painting at the University of Barcelona, where I graduated in 1990. Although I have always painted and exhibited, my career has explored different styles, from hyperrealism to abstraction, in a constant search for my own expression.

In 2015, with an exhibition in Ciutadella, I began an investigation into deconstruction that remains central to my work. Since then, I have developed it through painting, lectures, and workshops. Other important milestones were the exhibitions in Royan, France (2023), and Port Balís (2025).

For me, deconstruction means questioning the established order, fragmenting and reorganizing to discover new relationships and meanings. Today I continue to explore this idea as an open and evolving investigation.
