About this artwork
Este trabajo está inspirado en un personaje mítico, LAS GEISHAS, a quien se les ha asignado una incierta identidad durante años, debido a las calificaciones atribuidas al personaje.
La interpretación de la SERIE GEISHA se realizó con una imagen sin identidad, donde coge protagonismo el maquillaje con la frialdad y el toque de color en sus labios que realzan la imagen tan característica de una figura tan mítica.
Quiero capturar en las obras, esa… expresión fría del personaje, con diferentes enfoques conseguidos de un estudio de modelos al natural realizando apuntes de diferentes posiciones. Elegí hacer la serie GEISHA porque estoy muy interesado en esta figura, en el juego que me permite vestir mis GEISHAS ; vestidos con mucho color, jugar con texturas para hacer un collage usando diferentes materiales reciclados como el poso del café, el cartón de las hueveras que utilizo para los detalles decorativos del peinado y todo tipo de papeles.
Técnica mixta sobre tela o madera.

« My restlessness makes me constantly think about my characters. »
Josep Pozo is a Spanish painter who has exhibited his works in numerous solo events nationally. While he says his style isn't singular, but varied, one of the main features in his compositions is the ambiguity of the characters he portrays. Pozo highlights their characteristics and leaves it up to the viewer to create a narrative around their stories. He employs mixed techniques based on acrylics and collage, recycling different materials in order to obtain rich textures.
