About this artwork
Jovanitha painted a series of retro games, pop art style. Her games series was influenced by Warhol's can soups. One of the aim of the pop art is to use images of popular culture. Once Campbell's can soups, today's Nintendo's Game Boy.
She chose the Tamagotchi, Nintendo's Game Boy and the PlayStation because they remind her of childhood and of endless hours of play. She had fun painting these retro games, triggering sweet memories. She chose to… do a blue monochrome of the PlayStation thus appealing to the connoisseur. She hopes that her retro game art will bring a lot of fun to its new home and evoke similar memories.
