About this artwork
Jovanitha painted a vintage sofa, Oxford style. She has a soft spot for still life painting and enjoys putting her own surreal colours on the different objects. She chose this sofa which is actually her very first couch for all the fond memories (afternoon naps, series binging, late night snacks) which she shares with it.
Her work is greatly influenced by pop art masters like Keith Haring or Roy Lichtenstein. She loves how they highlight the beauty… of ordinary things with simple lines and bold colours. She is convinced that beauty is everywhere for who, who takes the time to look. She hopes that her sofa painting is a reminder to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.
