What still sustains
I explore the state that exists between collapse and permanence.
A mineralized textile object hangs suspended within an altered frame that can no longer fully contain what it holds. Ropes, wires, fractures, and improvised connections create an unstable structure where each element depends on the others to maintain its balance.
I don't seek to represent an image, but rather to transform matter into narrative. Through Chromanarrativism,… I use real materials to speak of resistance, vulnerability, transformation, and adaptation.
The work unfolds in three stages: state, intervention, and consequence. What appears before the viewer is neither a ruin nor a repair, but a new condition that has emerged after the fracture.
The shadow is an essential part of the composition, amplifying the physical presence of the piece and suggesting that every visible structure is also sustained by invisible forces.

Born in Austria in 1971, JOWU transformed his life into a work of art. After restoring an ancient castle, he found refuge and truth in painting. A self-taught artist, he developed Chromanarrativism: a pictorial practice where color ceases to be merely decorative and becomes a vehicle for conveying states of being, tension, and transformation.
International MBA from IMC Krems (Austria) with studies in New York, speaks German, English and Spanish.
