About this artwork
My main inspiration comes from the forms of iron work around windows and railings. Although these ironwork pieces function mainly for their utilitarian use to protect windows or railings for walking up or down steps, they have unexpected beautiful moments of ornate and decorative art embedded in these everyday objects. This series explores the overlooked beauty in these forms, while they bring into question necessity or ornamentation in the everyday.
