About this artwork

This is the beginning of Juan's exploration into Concrete Art. Here he explores pure abstraction using color blocks juxtaposed against one another in many colors to create a non-objective composition. He starts to use contrasting color zips or thin lines of color to activate the two-dimensional space. The painting can be put into many categories including the Minimalist, Geometric, and Hard Edge schools. Juan used acrylic paint, gesso and matte medium… on archival gallery wrap canvas with 1 1/2 inch depth. Edges are painted white. Ready to hang. Titled, dated, and signed on the reverse.

He likens his artistic process to a dance, where he continuously explores new steps between color and geometry.
