About this artwork
This work captures the stillness and serenity in a train station after a snowfall. The artist transports us to a place where the cold of winter is softened by the warmth of the tones used. The painting reveals a post-snow scene with a train station as the protagonist. The icy atmosphere is offset by the warm color palette that gives the work a cozy feeling, inviting the viewer to enter it. A commuter train, recently arrived at the station, represents… the continuous coming and going of daily life, while the black lines of the tracks stand out against the snow, outlining the path along which history travels. The work huts, industrial warehouses, walls and trees are covered by a white blanket, creating an atmosphere of stillness. The sky, with its multiple shades, from the cream that rises above the lines of houses to the violet blue tones that crown the composition.
