About this artwork
Orange Feather Duster belongs to the artist's early period, when he was beginning to solidify his artistic language within the professional gallery scene. The work is structured around three humble, everyday objects: a feather duster, a glass soda bottle, and a brush cleaning container. These elements, of little material value, nevertheless become the protagonists of a highly sensitive pictorial exercise. The intense orange of the feather duster—which… gives the work its title—acts as a chromatic axis and point of visual tension, engaging with a background of greenish blues enriched by glazes and oxidized hues. The chiaroscuro is restrained and subtle, reinforcing an intimate atmosphere. The glass bottle allows the painter to study reflections and the refraction of light, while the support, an old oilcloth stained with paint, lends a poetic, nostalgic, and slightly rough character that defines the vintage spirit of the work.
