About this artwork
I have been obsessed by American Abstract Expressionist artist Franz Kline. By drawing inspiration from him and my mothers geisha series I have built up my confidence to create this painting and others in the series. I generally work with colour so to limit my palette to just Black and White was challenging. To add depth and interest i have combined flat & gloss enamel paint, inkwash and built up texture using molding paste all this on a luxurious…
