About this artwork
Sainte-Luce is a lovely town along the shores of the St. Lawrence river. Storms arise quickly and the artist was graced with a brief but beautiful cloudburst which she hoped to capture with this painting. She was also inspired by Eric Whitacre’s choral piece with the St. Olaf’s choir of the same title.

Judith Harvey is a Canadian painter who has exhibited her work nationally. Her still life and landscape works showcase a classical richness, expert detail and impressively balanced colour combinations. Inspired by the pines, cedars, lakes and flower fields she grew up around in the Laurentians of Quebec, she composes paintings that capture a sacred connection to and essence of nature.
