About this artwork
A striking work that weaves one painting through two others resulting in a rich, warm, textile like artwork that ripples over the canvas. A stunning piece that will definitely be a talking point. Named for the medieval English name for hazelnut which I felt was apt for a painting that uses the ancient craft technique of weaving and is predominantly in shades of chocolate and reddish brown.
The work is secured to canvas. It is fitted with D rings… and wire for immediate hanging. On the front you will find my initials. On the back is my signature, title and year.

Beyond the Expected
I create structural walI-based works that transform the picture plane into tactile, spatial forms. Neither painting nor sculpture alone, they respond to changing light, revealing shifting rhythms that enrich the experience of a space
Julee Latimer is a UK-born artist based in Melbourne. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Sculpture and Painting from Curtin University (Perth, 2019).
Her work is held in private and permanent collections internationally, including Hotel Capella (Sydney), Hotel Conrad Orchard (Singapore), and the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (Chicago, USA).
She has also been recognised as a finalist in several prestigious Australian art prizes.
Through an investigative approach, her practice contributes to ongoing discourse around material transformation and the evolving boundaries of contemporary art.
