About this artwork
The dramatic opposites of black and white meet halfway through grey in a painting inspired by ice melting. With its flickers of gold this is a bold, unusual combination of linear and organic patterns. It has a glossy finish.

This work has two sets of D rings and wire for your choice of vertical or horizontal hanging (see in situ images). The pattern continues around… all sides, therefore, there is no need to frame. On the back you will find my signature, initials, title and year. Based in Melbourne, Julee Latimer creates dynamic, textural works that challenge traditional painting. By pouring paint onto plastic surfaces and peeling it away, she treats the medium as a solid material, blending elements of textiles with three-dimensional form. Each piece is crafted through extensive cutting and assembly, resulting in intricate, tactile compositions.

Her work has been recognized as a finalist in major art prizes and is held in international collections, including Hotel Capella (Sydney), Hotel Conrad Orchard (Singapore) and the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (Chicago, USA).
