About this artwork
In this work I combine acrylic, pencil and ink to create an expressive expression of the joy of life and renewal that spring symbolizes. The abstract representation captures the dynamic, almost chaotic energy of nature, which manifests itself in the awakening colors and shapes. By playing with texture and color contrasts, I invite the viewer to immerse themselves in a world that celebrates both rawness and beauty. This painting brings movement and… freshness to any room and reminds us to embrace the unexpected joys of life.
Sophie Kunze, with a background in expressive dance and craft arts, works primarily with acrylic paints and mixes her medium on raw cotton fabric. Her techniques vary and range from wet-on-wet to mixed media, using everyday tools to apply the paints. Her organic structures and fluid movements reflect empathy, transparency and the shift in consciousness that she describes as the courage to change.
