In this work, I explored the fluid dynamics of watercolors and the precision of pencil lines on stone paper. The abstract forms and explosive lines bring a vibrant yet calming energy to any space. My inspiration was a snapshot of a beautiful, eventful November day. This painting is a celebration of freedom and the visual poetry of informality.
Sophie Kunze, with a background in expressive dance and craft arts, works primarily with acrylic paints and mixes her medium on raw cotton fabric. Her techniques vary and range from wet-on-wet to mixed media, using everyday tools to apply the paints. Her organic structures and fluid movements reflect empathy, transparency and the shift in consciousness that she describes as the courage to change.
