“By the Time it Gets Dark” is an ethereal abstract seascape oil painting 50cm x 50cm (20 x 20 inches) on 4cm (1.5 inch) deep canvas.
Inspired by looking at the sea from the East Hill on a dark Winter’s day when the sun’s light on the horizon was shining like a strip of silver.
The title is from “By the Time it Gets Dark" by Sandy Denny
It's painted in shades of blue and purple and the line of light on the horizon is painted in silver metallic… paint. The surface of the painting has a satin sheen.
The painting continues around the sides of the canvas and it is signed on the back. It is ready to hang and comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.
