About this artwork
In Path of Sagittarius, I painted the journey of the seeker—the eternal traveler who follows the stars to find their truth. This piece is deeply inspired by the astrological energy of Sagittarius: expansive, curious, and always reaching toward the infinite. A lone figure walks a golden path through otherworldly terrain, surrounded by galaxies, planets, and the radiant Sagittarian constellation rendered in gold leaf.
I wanted to express both the vastness… of the universe and the intimacy of personal transformation. Layers of deep teal, cosmic black, and starlit gold create an immersive atmosphere where time and gravity seem suspended. The constellation lines and planetary arcs symbolize guidance and destiny—tools for those brave enough to walk their own road.
This painting bridges spiritual surrealism and contemporary cosmic art, drawing on visionary artists like Alex Grey and Hilma af Klint, yet rooted in my own language of mysticism and abstraction.

Julia Hacker is a multidisciplinary artist working between her studios in California and Canada.
