About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the warmth and gentleness of the mimosa, somewhere between abstraction and figurative form. It represents the sun in the heart of winter, the Mediterranean, and, as I have just discovered, a symbol of feminine energy.
It marks the beginning of my floral landscape series, where I turn to nature to express emotions that sit beneath the surface.
Warm Mediterranean tones, layered transparencies, and soft textures… shape a luminous, poetic atmosphere.
A statement piece for collectors who appreciate nature-inspired painting, and emotional abstraction.

Julia Spada is a Franco-Barcelona painter, trained at the Beaux-Arts in Brussels and Lisbon, whose twenty years of cooking enrich her sensitivity to textures and color. She practices a poetic and narrative figuration, creating large canvases with natural pigments applied in translucent layers, where water erases and reveals, installing a dreamlike and suspended atmosphere. Her works transform ordinary scenes into moments charged with emotion, inviting us to slow down the gaze to perceive the fragility, nostalgia, and depth hidden in the memory of everyday life.
