About this artwork
The work "Windows III" is part of the Windows series. This uses found windows from an old building in Berlin as substrate material and gives them a new purpose. I associate home with the gathering of people from different stages of life. These should meet in the windows, from which older people in particular often look out in my homeland, with the brightly colored accents and cheerful colors of younger generations.
When I think about the future,… I think we have to try harder to combine the old with the new in a sustainable manner. Not always creating something new, but using the old, the culture, the homeland to create something new. Last but not least, we have an obligation to nature. Upcycling the window serves as a means to combine the old with the new in a sustainable way.
