Diffused, soft light penetrates from all sides a cube of translucent paper surfaces. The finely nuanced shades, resulting from the different patina of the paper as well as the opening and subdivision of the volume according to harmonious principles, make the magic of light and shadow as well as of proportion and space tangible.

Julia Tervoort is an exciting German photographer whose works have featured in exhibitions, prizes and publications throughout the country. Initially inspired to pursue an artistic path by the Bauhaus movement during her architectural studies, she became fascinated by the language of light and the art of shadow in perceptions of space and materiality. Her photographs propose the poetry of light in unique spaces and from thought-provoking perspectives, overall achieving a rich visual narrative.
