About this artwork
The myth of Icarus inspired this creation. The sun-drenched feathers stand out against the blue backdrop of the Sea, but instead of being covered in wax as in the legend, they are, in this case, covered in ice. I created this artwork before I realized I would establish my new studio in Greece, where the legend took place. Newfoundland and Greece, which are opposites, are enclosed in this creation.
