This pictorial technique has been known for more than 2,000 years. It was first used by the first-century Egyptians to paint burial tomb portraits. The… PORTRAITS OF AL FAYUM discovered in northern Egypt in encaustic wooden sarcophagi date from this period. It was also used in POMPEII and ROME for wall paintings.

Julio Sendino is an award-winning painter and draftsman based in Spain whose works have been widely exhibited nationally and in Lithuania. The common theme in his pieces is the geometric decompositions of shapes, both figurative and abstract. In his artisitc practice, Sendino seeks balance, rhythm, as well as an aesthetic value. He creates using oils, wax, and watercolors on wood, paper, or canvas.
