About this artwork
Staccato is a rhythmic sequence of colored stripes and forms with concise, isolated accents. Interspersed with short, white strokes, the image possesses a fresh, pulsating dynamism. The atmosphere is captivating and focused, while the perspective reveals a flat, abstract plane devoid of any discernible motif. The eye moves rhythmically from one color to the next. The image exudes concentration and impulsiveness, as if each stroke creates a brief,… deliberate point of sound. Subtle details such as transparencies and overlays add depth without diminishing the clear structure.
Framing: white wooden frame with glass pane. 60 x 60 cm, 2 cm wide, 2.5 cm deep.
CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION are the central themes of my art. Through the power of colors, I express invisible inner states as well as the preconscious and unconscious and make them sensually perceptible. In my works, spaces of tension arise that combine calm and movement, dynamics and tension, and in which feelings, images and associations can come to life.
I work with different techniques: colors are removed and reapplied, and I use different utensils to scratch, smear and rub the materials - all of this leaves unmistakable marks on the canvas.
Are they landscapes or people? Or are they rather independent abstractions? This uncertainty remains even after a longer viewing and invites you to develop your own perceptions and memories of the images.
