About this artwork
Warm brown tones represent grounded longing, from which a red spark of passion rises, marking the heat of emotions. These emotions then ascend, gaining air and opening into a cool, blue and white, transparent realm – a promise of freedom and clarity.
In front of it, a wire mesh. A piece breaks off and rises like liberated dreams – like barriers that can dissolve.
The juxtaposition of earthiness and airiness creates a tension between security and… longing, making the image a scene in which emotional steps out of a solid shell are possible.
The work evokes a moving feeling of liberation, confidence, and the quiet melody that change grows from the inside out.
The picture is painted on paper, fitted with a passe-partout (width 10 cm) and framed behind glass with a white wooden frame (73 x 73 x 2 cm).
The inner dimensions of the picture are 50 x 50 cm.
CHANGE and TRANSFORMATION are the central themes of my art. Through the power of colors, I express invisible inner states as well as the preconscious and unconscious and make them sensually perceptible. In my works, spaces of tension arise that combine calm and movement, dynamics and tension, and in which feelings, images and associations can come to life.
I work with different techniques: colors are removed and reapplied, and I use different utensils to scratch, smear and rub the materials - all of this leaves unmistakable marks on the canvas.
Are they landscapes or people? Or are they rather independent abstractions? This uncertainty remains even after a longer viewing and invites you to develop your own perceptions and memories of the images.
