In this picture I tried to capture an emotional presence that is not expressed through gesture or action, but through a silent, almost luminous expression.
The figure appears collected, lost in thought – but it radiates something: warmth, thoughtfulness, perhaps even compassion. I work with oil paints in several translucent layers, inspired by the sfumato technique. The soft transitions without harsh lines create an atmosphere in which light and… shadow move almost like a breath.
I'm interested in the invisible in human beings—subtle inner states, quiet emotions that nevertheless have a powerful impact. This face is not a classic portrait, but a mirror for what lies beneath the surface.
