Reciprocity (Yin and Yang) is a study that examines the mutual exchange between opposing forces through a geometric lens. The central 汉字 (Hànzì) characters serve as a typographic anchor, grounding the composition within a specific cultural and philosophical lineage. I have utilised a palette of varied red and orange hues to reference the symbolic importance of these tones in Chinese tradition as carriers of vitality and structural order. The use…
of nested circles within a quadrant-based layout illustrates the reciprocal movement of Yin and Yang, where each element exists only in relation to its counterpart. Subtle textural transitions across the canvas surface highlight the friction and cohesion required to achieve a state of equilibrium. Ultimately, the work functions as a formal investigation into the dynamics of balance and the persistence of duality.
