Die Serie MICROCOSM IN BLOOM zeigt organische Strukturen und parallel verlaufende Linien. Charakteristisch für mein aktuelles künstlerisches Schaffen ist die Verbindung von geometrischen und organischen Formen. Ausgangspunkt für das Schaffen dieser Bilder bildet für mich das Spannungsverhältnis zwischen Chaos und Kontrolle. Das menschliche Bestreben den Planeten zu vermessen und zu kontrollieren steht der unbändigen Kraft dessen gegenüber. Um dieses… Spannungsverhältnis noch mehr zu thematisieren, integriere ich bewusst Faktoren in meinen Arbeitsprozess, die sich nicht vollends kontrollieren lassen. Oftmals verwende ich viel Wasser, das ich mit den Farben vermische und lasse sie fließen. Außerdem verwende ich ein spezielles analoges Druckverfahren, das ebenfalls unvorhersehbare Strukturen erzeugt.
Katharina Kühne is a painter, sculptor, and installation artist who trained at the Braunschweig Art Academy (HBK Braunschweig). She uses specially developed painting and printing techniques, reverse glass painting, ceramics, and installations; her style oscillates between figuration and abstraction, characterized by ornamental, organic patterns and dynamic pictorial structures. Her art explores the tension between control and chaos, conveying admiration and awe for the power of nature.
