About this artwork
Microcosm Verses unfolds a vibrant web reminiscent of microscopic images. Perception shifts between growth and decay: plant fragments, cell divisions, and solidified liquids appear. Small drops—condensed breaths—mark traces of a process. Not an image, but an event.
A specially developed printing process creates structures that defy control and unfold a life of their own: imprints, overlays, and condensations. The work oscillates between poetic… intimacy and scientific precision.
The microcosm becomes language: tiny particles appear like verses that are not meant to be read, but rather felt. Microcosm Verses opens a space in which nature, chance, and process are equal actors—an image that celebrates both the fragility of creation and the beauty of decay.
Katharina Kühne is a painter, sculptor, and installation artist who trained at the Braunschweig Art Academy (HBK Braunschweig). She uses specially developed painting and printing techniques, reverse glass painting, ceramics, and installations; her style oscillates between figuration and abstraction, characterized by ornamental, organic patterns and dynamic pictorial structures. Her art explores the tension between control and chaos, conveying admiration and awe for the power of nature.
