About this artwork
The work is a new art form: a high-resolution abstract photograph - without digital alienation - embedded in a copper frame that has been elaborately worked by hand. It has a rail on the back for free hanging in front of the wall.

The artist builds something new out of the photograph of a real, existing world, creating a universe of its own for the viewer. In this way, the artist… assigns a new interpretation to things that have their origins somewhere else, taking art lovers with her into her art world, which is always characterized by philosophically questioning perspectives, and focuses on questions such as the search for meaning in today's society, which is characterized by tensions. Sometimes, as is the case here, the artist pays homage to a revered artist of a bygone era.

Kathrin Sachse is a photographer based in Germany whose works have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally. Through her artistic practice, she explores and questions the elemental subject of life itself, with all of its various facets and adversities. Sachse blurs the boundaries between photography and reality, as well as painting and abstraction with the motto: the photographer as a graphic artist.
