About this artwork
'Guidance' was one of two paintings created over the same duration as astronaut Tim Peake was in the International Space Station. The other night time painting 'Earthshine' has sold, 'Guidance' is the daylight interpretation. If you can focus on the horizon it is possible to get a feel for the curvature of the earth and the idea of re entering the atmosphere.

Kathryn Thomas is a prizewinning British artist who has exhibited throughout the UK. Her paintings are inspired by the changing moods of natural phenomena: sometimes defined, sometimes hazy horizons, shades of dark and light, both cloudy and cloudless skies. Creating soft color combinations and engaging blurring effects, she seeks ultimately to create the most achingly beautiful paintings possible.
