In Pacific Layers, I translate the colors and atmosphere of the California coast into a layered collage of sky, sea, and shoreline. Horizontal bands of painted paper and translucent fragments echo the shifting horizon, while textured marks suggest the movement of wind and tide. Rather than depicting a literal seascape, I focus on the feeling of the Pacific—its light, depth, and quiet rhythm.
