About this artwork
The Forest Rhapsody series were first developed from my exploration of working with limited colour palette. “Forest-Land” has over 30 layers of oil and cold wax medium. I used frequent compression and mark-making on each layer which I think contributed to creating interest and depth as well as visual texture. I was quite excited when I got this painting to the finish - it seemed to all of sudden coalesce and become this image of ancient forest…
