About this artwork
The artwork, measuring 44x50x3cm, is a collage of Chinese paper on canvas. The artist previously colored all the papers with black and blue pigments, as well as coffee. The title "Regeneration" alludes to the effect of the colors in the painting, which has a slightly autumnal feel, as if nature were retreating.

Katja Gramann is a German artist whose painting follows the tradition of Art Informel. All of her works are consistently abstract. Her works have been exhibited in Germany in numerous solo and group events. Katja Gramann has also been successfully represented by a gallery in Belgium since 2022. Her participation in a summer exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London in 2022 also brought her international recognition. The artist pursues three styles in her painting: acrylic painting, mixed media (using ash, pigments, rock flour, charcoal, rust, and paper), and abstract collages made of fine Chinese paper, which Gramann colors herself, dries, and then arranges into a painting in a multi-layered process. Since 2021, Katja Gramann has been teaching painting at independent art academies in Vienna, Kolbermoor, and Bad Heilbrunn.
