About this artwork
This artwork began to take shape during a painting evening, when my friends came together to create its first layer. Their colours, expressions and energies became the foundation upon which I continued to build.
Collaboration therefore holds more than colour and form. It carries traces of several people and becomes a symbol of everything that can emerge when we meet, open ourselves to one another and create together.
A sense of community and belonging… is something we all benefit from – and something we fundamentally need. This painting is a manifestation of inclusion, openness and the willingness to see our fellow human beings with respect and love.
These are values we can nurture every day, through encounters both small and significant. When we choose to include, listen and meet one another with mutual respect, we also contribute to a kinder and better world.
