About this artwork
In this work, I talk about standing up for yourself. Being there for yourself. Being close to yourself.
I used acrylic paints in a spatula technique as well as pencil here to create a dynamic texture and depth.
As is so often the case, it's the many small details that one discovers upon closer inspection that are important to me. The combination of cool and warm tones reflects the duality of human emotions. This painting is an invitation to feel… the raw, untamed energy that can enliven any home. It represents the freedom of expression and personal reflection.
Everything is allowed to be as it is.
We are allowed to be exactly as we are and to stand up for ourselves.
Katrin Neudeck, born in Thuringia, is a passionate painter who, after a career as a police commissioner in Berlin, devoted herself to art in Leipzig. She creates vibrant works with unique textures and contrasts using acrylic paints and palette knives on canvas, paper, and wood—a dynamic technique that captivates with its expressive power. Her artworks are emotional depictions of polarities, powerfully expressing feelings and sociopolitical themes.
