About this artwork
Untitled Raw Sienna
It’s the first painting from Untitled Series. I made it by my fingers. Personal Hard times coincided with war times in Ukraine. Some people thinks that artists find inspiration only in something beautiful. But the truth is that individual, cultural, social upheavals inspire also.
My own upheaval is being refugee in an unknown country and feeling deep loneliness.
My Untitled Series encompasses frustration, loneliness, anxiety,… unstable emotional states and wishing to find tactile contact with someone. This someone is my canvas. I sacralised it.
It’s not about colour simplicity. It’s about emotional flashing, seeking pleasure of touching. I juxtapose colours, doodles and tactile feelings. Because I feel restriction in relationship with a human.
The painting was made in the Druskininkai art residency, Lithuania, 2022
The painting was showcased at the Solo exhibition "I am a refugee", Driskininkai museum, Lithuania, 2023
