About this artwork
In this work, the artist has dealt with his own history in terms of both form and content. The street's wild graffiti was tamed and captured on canvas, participating in the forms and symbols of the scene. The alter ego wrestles with the contemporary artist, bringing forth a veritable confrontation of street and art scene. As a result, the work creates an expressiveness that comes close to the power and energy of the prost graffiti of the scene.

« ART BOSS! »
Kay Schwarz157 is a painter and draftsman based in Germany whose work has been exhibited nationally as well as in Austria and Switzerland. In addition, his art has been featured in publications such as ZEITKUNST Magazine and Leipziger Volkszeitung. Schwarz157 describes his works as abstracted and stylized head studies. This head study embodies the interface between formal graphic expression, which is obviously influenced by his past as a very active part of the graffiti scene of the early 90s, and intellectual reflection, which he relates to epistemological moments. Above all, he believes that art is a tool for enlightenment.
