About this artwork

This 7th Sea Sonnet is inspired by the contrast of graphic signs and the sea. The poles in a harbor are mathematic dots in a 'free' environment. This always catches my eye. With this Sea Sonnet, I take the two elements apart and emphasize the free form of the 'graphic' poles.
This painting gives me a serene feeling. The layers of the dark sea change while you look at it. The white poles are like beacons. I hope this painting gives rest and balance… to the viewers. A moment of introspection and peace.
