About this artwork
Beach huts of Brighton and Hove, UK
They sit quietly along the coastline, unaware. The uncertain skies waft in and out as lives are churned upside down. And as the stripped colours of the beach huts remind us of cotton candy and ice cream cones, we can't help but worry; So we cross the street and look up to the sturdy buildings for solid ground.

« Nature inspired and climate concerned. Through my work I record our emotional connection to the spaces that surround us, celebrating our landscapes and cultures. »
Kelly Allison's artistic inclination flourished during her design and architectural studies in Canada, the UK and Sweden. Originally from Vancouver, Canada she has been living abroad for many years, continues to travel extensively and today lives on the island of Corsica. This diverse cultural exposure, along with her current observations of the natural world, inform her artwork. She is particularly drawn to understanding and recording our emotional connections with our environments. Using nature's curves and village lines to tell her story, the result lies somewhere between figurative and abstract, mimicking the mix of tangible and intangible realities.
