About this artwork
The human race. Whether it's the ongoing competition between the sexes or ourselves or just against the ravages of time. We all take what this life has given us and we run with it. In the midst of the race and our single desire to win, we sometimes forget the very thrill and daring that we are apart of. The loftier the goal, the more demand for the dangerous is expected. This is the middle of the race, and who wins and who losses was never important… to me. I like the universe don't really care if one wins or losses, only that you gave it the best show. Even the little flightless penguin becomes a symbol of, if there's a will there is a way. So, good luck and have some fun.
Just a note. Around the World in Eighty Days was a big influence on the race imagery in this painting.
The secret heart of an artist must always be hidden in every piece of meaningful work.
