« It frustrates a great many people, that in my head, there's another world that can't be penetrated. Parts of it eke out to create what you see. »
Scottish painter Ken McClymont's first memory of creating art was drawing a swan on a blackboard before he had started any schooling. McClymont works in acrylics, watercolor and collage and seeks to provoke an emotional response within the viewer. McClymont builds his own wooden stretchers, and stretches and primes his canvases over several days as he plans and imagines each work. With circular motifs, primary colors, and multilayered designs, McClymont's large-scale abstract paintings are vivid and intense.
