Senses overload, this piece was inspired by a recollection of sounds,smells and an overwhelming urban rooftop vista
Kerri’s practice focuses on an exploration of painting processes, manipulation of paint, surfaces, marks and colour with an intention to produce “something that has an element of familiarity to intrigue and engage the viewer without fully revealing itself.” Inspired by travel or encounters with new places, Kerri’s paintings have reference… to curious spaces in man-made, industrial and urban landscapes. The ambiguity of the subject matter encourages the viewer to connect to their own experiences, thoughts and memories.

Kerri Pratt is a visual artist currently based in the East Midlands of the UK. Initially quitting her education, she returned years later, achieving a first class honours degree at the University of Derby. Her acrylic paintings are a personal response to the people and environments that surround her.
