About this artwork
This painting was inspired by a trip to Volcan Mountain - a wilderness area in Southern California. It is an expressive painting of a type of high desert plant - one that grows as tall as a person! This painting is about the mood and majesty of nature. It is painted on raw canvas using gestural renderings. It is painted with oil and pastel. It has a majestic aura and is a unique expression of the celebration of the natural world.

« My works explore the inter-relationship between abstract form and shape - how form speaks to other form, how they intertwine and engage - how you cannot have the one without the other. »
Kerry is an abstract painter who explores the themes of love and connection through the interplay of form and space in her signature collection Metaphorical Relationships. These works are zen-like white organic forms within rich and bold colorfields. They bring positive energy and peacefulness to any space. These works are accompanied with love poems that expand on the work’s interpretation.
Kerry also creates feminist avant-garde large-scale works exploring reclaiming the male gaze through the eyes of a female painter. These works use provocative imagery and words to showcase feminine power and beauty. Her Shadow Stories series explore aspects of our shadow selves.
Kerry holds a Master of Arts from California State University. Her works adorn homes and businesses throughout the United States and Europe. She owns a gallery and artist studio in Solana Beach, CA
