About this artwork
Steep mountain slopes, waterfalls, rushing glacier water with their special rough charm can be found especially in the far north of Europe. Grobler captures these landscape experiences with muted colors and coarse brushwork - but not without integrating a bright, friendly color impulse.

« My pictures are abstract, but not non-representational. They are expressive and calculated at the same time. The works aim directly at the soul and invite you to dream. »
Kerstin Grobler is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally (Europe, USA). Her distinctive expressionist landscapes are inspired by nature. Grobler usually begins her series with plein air works to experience her surroundings with all of her senses, and translates the images onto larger canvases in her studio.
