About this artwork
Steep mountain slopes, waterfalls, rushing glacier water with their special rough charm can be found especially in the far north of Europe. Grobler captures these landscape experiences with muted colors and coarse brushwork - but not without integrating a bright, friendly color impulse.

Kerstin Grobler is a Germany-based artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally (Europe, USA). Her distinctive expressionist landscapes are inspired by nature. Grobler usually begins her series with plein air works to experience her surroundings with all of her senses, and translates the images onto larger canvases in her studio.
Studied art at the Free Academy of Painting, Düsseldorf. Several years of further training with Prof. Markus Lüpertz.
