About this artwork
For me, "Flamboyance 5" captures the shimmering moment of a luminous flock gliding across the deep blue water. The flamingos move like a dance in the wind – simultaneously grace, freedom, and inner tension. Each bird seems to carry its own story, and yet, amidst this dynamic energy, a moment of profound stillness arises.
What fascinates me about this work is the fusion of color and movement. The flamingos initially emerge only as layers of pink… impasto, which blend with the layers of sky and water. Only from a distance do the figures detach themselves from this, rhythmically, lightly, almost floating.
The colors of the sky, intertwined with the relentless movement of the flock, stretch time for me. It is a fleeting moment that touches me because it exists between presence and dissolution – an image that is completed in my own gaze.
